I know I am not the only one that has been the victim of a bad legal system and very inhuman ways people are processed like cattle. Well I would have to say I think cattle probably have it better in some cases. Now dont get me wrong Denton county from what I hear has a very good jail, so if you are a bad guy looking to do time this may not be such a bad place to do it.

It the whole process in which our legal system works that bothers me the most. The constitution and of course the great men that founded this county made it so that every man is innocent until proven guilty. I guess to some extent this is true if you are up for murder this may just be the case.

Guilty or not they still put you through the dehumanizing and demoralizing process or jail. If an ex girl friend or current girl friend just yells you made her cry off you go downtown to be degraded to a point of no return. Jail is designed to rehabilitate and of course its suppose to be an experience like no other so that you stay out and be a good citizen and never come back, but what about those that are not guilty. What about those they may have just been in the wrong place and the wrong time? Should they have to go through the same process. I know it would be impossible to determine who is guilty and who is not guilty until they have their day in court, but isn't that what innocent until proven guilty means. So why if you are innocent until proven guilty do they throw you in jail and slap a bond on you for thousands and sometimes even millions of dollars. Doesn't that indicate that they think you are guilty. If you were presumed innocent until your day in court you would be subject to this type of process. The process is very messed up and I will bet dollars to peso's it creates more career criminals that it does fixing those that are.

So now you have spent thousands of dollars for the bond so that you can get out and try to maintain so sort of dignity, salvage your job and if you are lucky be with family. Then you have to make hundreds of calls to find an attorney that you feel confident and represent you. Denton county which is the county in question here has what I like to call the good ole boy system. When finding an attorney in Denton you want to try and find one that has a beer with the district attorney on occasions, or plays a little golf with the judge on Sundays after brunch. Sure if you can endure the cost for an attorney like this you may just get out of whatever problem you are tied up in. Long story short if you got the money, you don't do the time (guilty or not) OJ Simpson is a living walking breathing testament to this type of legal system. This type of due process if find if you got money, but what about those that don't have the money, They are what I would like to label simply "screwed".
